The Wandering Village: The different types of biome (environment)

The Wandering Village is a simulation game developed by Stray Fawn Studio in which you develop a village on the back of a large walking creature! The game lets you build your own little village while exploring a post-apocalyptic world. In this guide you'll find all the details on the different biomes (environments) you can encounter during your stay on Onbu's back.

What is a Biome?

First of all, Onbu lets you move around in a variety of locations. Onbu will lead you through various environments, where you'll encounter different types of opportunities and challenges. There are currently 3 different types of environment, also known as Biome.

Forest/Jungle Biome

When you're in a Forest/Jungle biome, humidity levels are higher, enabling you to harvest water more quickly using your "air well". What's more, the Forest/Jungle environment allows you to grow your plantations and crops.

As a result, pollen storms and toxic soils can frequently occur in the Forest/Jungle biome. If you find yourself in toxic soil, toxic plants will suddenly appear in your village. You need to eliminate them quickly (limited time) before they contaminate the entire village, as they are capable of causing illness among villagers and Onbu.

Mountain Biome

In the Mountain biome, the temperature is much lower than in the other biomes. Water recovery will be slower, as there is less humidity than in the Forest/Jungle biome. Because of the low temperature, only limited planting and harvesting will be possible. However, this biome is perfect for expeditions in search of resources and villagers.

Desert Biome

Unlike the Mountain biome, the temperature is very high, which will prevent you from planting certain crops and plantations. What's more, unlike the Forest/Jungle biome, you won't be able to harvest water using your air well, since there's no humidity.

Please note that staying in the same type of biome for too long can be bad for you and Onbu. Indeed, some biomes allow you to harvest water, while others do not, for example.

These are the different types of biome you'll be able to find in The Wandering Village. It's important to gain Onbu's trust, since at certain points it's vital to be able to give him commands to avoid certain paths that will lead you to toxic soil, or to change biomes.
